Apple: Το Jailbreak είναι για έμπορους ναρκωτικών (!!)

Ακόμα ένα άρθρο από το πάντα έγκυρο iPhoneHellas έρχεται να μας κάνει να γελάσουμε, με τα τερτίπια της Apple.

Βλέπετε η Apple, στην προσπάθεια της να αποτρέψει το jailbreak καταφεύγει σε εξωφρενικές δηλώσεις.

Ούτε λίγο ούτε πολύ, ο Christopher Soghoian αναφέρει, ότι όσοι επιθυμούν να κάνουν jailbreak με απώτερο σκοπό να αλλάξουν το serial number της συσκευής τους πρέπει να είναι έμποροι ναρκωτικών ή εγκληματίες.

"Each iPhone contains a unique Exclusive Chip Identification (ECID) number that identifies the phone to the cell tower. With access to the BBP via jailbreaking, hackers may be able to change the ECID, which in turn can enable phone calls to be made anonymously (this would be desirable to drug dealers, for example) or charges for the calls to be avoided."

Το Wired.com προχωράει ακόμα παραπέρα και κάνει πλάκα στην Αpple ανακαλύπτοντας έναν μεγάλο αριθμό γελοίων ισχυρισμών από την πλευρά της Apple, στους οποίους η εταιρεία αναφέρει ότι τα jailbroken iPhones μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν ώστε να προκαλέσουν καταστροφικές ζημιές στα δίκτυα κινητής τηλεφωνίας

“a local or international hacker could potentially initiate commands (such as a denial of service attack) that could crash the tower software, rendering the tower entirely inoperable to process calls or transmit data,”

“Taking control of the BBP software would be much the equivalent of getting inside the firewall of a corporate computer — to potentially catastrophic result.”

Ότι και να πει κανείς μετά από αυτούς τους ισχυρισμούς είναι λίγο.... εκεί στο Cupertino νομίζουν ότι έχουν να κάνουν με πρόβατα και λένε ότι θέλουν!
